" GT Athletic develops players from the grass roots level, the old fashion way of getting back to the basics - Gordie Theisen makes learning the game fun again.
Having played and coached with coach Theisen I have witnessed first hand his unique blend of baseball experience and teaching background that makes him an extremely effective instructor."
Vince Sacco, Teamone / Under Armour Baseball

NY Mets Scout

"Gordie and Eric Theisen have two of the most instructural baseball minds i have ever been around. They talk baseball 24-7, constantly discussing techniques they picked up and they feel will not only strengthen a players fundamentals within the game physically and mentally. Gordie posesses THE most positive attitude of any coach I have had throughout my playing career, and was THE SINGLE most influential person that lead to my success at the college level. Over time Gordie is able to mold your mental state of mind when on the field to be the most positive player on the field and establish a refuse to lose attitude within you..... I don't know of a better instructional team combination around than the one that has been established by GT Athletic. By choosing GT Athletic to instruct your child, your child will not only become better physically but more important, mentally. They will begin to understand the mental game of baseball and why certain things are done strategically in certain situations. Eric and Gordie's father-son combination of love and passion they both share for the game of baseball and passing their knowledge on to future players will make your child not only a better athlete on the field but a better person off it, because like i said before these two don't believe in failure!"

Nick Vandike, Adrian College pitcher (2005-2009)

"I have been pitching for the last 12 years of my life, and I can truly say that I became a pitcher 4 years ago when I became a student of Coach Theisen. He has helped me develop, and sharpen my skills over my college career through his knowledge and experience in baseball. Not only will I refer to Mr. Theisen as a coach; but a friend as well."

Josh Lancaster, Adrian College pitcher (2007-2010)

"Coach Theisen not only turned me into a better baseball player but also turned me into a better person. His ability to motivate and teach set him apart from others. I would not only call Coach a mentor and role model, but also a friend. He helped me to reach my full potential and pitch in the College World Series."

Alex Webster, Adrian College pitcher (2006-2009)

“Coach Theisen stresses the fundamentals of pitching mechanics which allows players to compete at a high level. Players are also exposed to pitching strategy, preparation, mental composure and conditioning to assist in the development of the overall player. His knowledge of the game of baseball and pitching is unprecedented. “

Phil Dunn, Siena Heights University pitcher (2001-2004)

“Coach Theisen has a unique ability to teach the fundamentals of the game while connecting to each of his athletes on a personal level.  He has the ability to relate to his athletes and teach the fundamentals in numerous ways to accommodate individual learning styles.  Most importantly, Coach Theisen focuses on all aspects of individual development including conditioning, mechanics and recovery.  This method improves the overall results of his athletes while maintaining a focus on injury prevention.  Coach Theisen will make his athletes more talented and give them the skills, attitude and training regimen to be successful at any level in baseball or softball.”

Josh Burgett, Siena Heights University first baseman (2001-2004)

"My son used GT Athletic's pitching instruction in the off season during his high school years. With Gordie's and Eric's help he progressed from a reliever on the freshman team to a varsity starter his junior year and senior year. I would highly recommend GT Athletic to improve your child's physical and mental baseball skills."

Coach Theisen,

I want to thank you for your presentation yesterday at Perfect Game. My son, Colt, really took to heart much of what you said. Although he is not a pitcher, he does intend on playing baseball in college and he is always interested in “tips” he can pick up along the way. Your credibility put a lot of weight on your message.

When we got home, he started writing a list. I asked him what he was doing, and if he was trying to remember the exercises that you mentioned. He said “No. I’m making out a workout to do every day when I get home”. We went over some of the exercises you described and I stressed the importance of proper form, especially in the medicine ball use. Next thing I know… he’s outside doing the exercising up and down the driveway. Our driveway is about 400 feet long, so he was getting a workout! Eventually he finished up with two exercises in the house. I love to see self motivation!

Your description of the benefit and importance of core strength really hit home with him. Hopefully he stays with it! Usually he does. He is planning on taking the winter off (no basketball) and instead preparing for baseball in the spring.

I wanted to let you know that you inspired him. I want to thank you for that. To tell you the truth, we were there for the hitting seminar and when Colt heard you were coming, he wanted to stay. I knew I would benefit as a coach too. I was very glad that we stayed.

Take care and good luck this season!
